Territory Service Manager

Job Dscription:


  • Oversees the merchandising and sales relief needs units within their territory.
  • Coordinates overall scheduling, training, resources and supplies for the merchandising and sales relief for all units in their territory. Consult with the Territory Director and DSM’s as needed.
  • Available to act as coverage for sales and merchandising in their territory as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as needed or required to maintain and grow profitable business within the assigned territory.

Essential Functions (must be able to be performed with or without reasonable accommodation):

For their assigned territory:

  • Ensure all department personnel follow all company safety policies.
  • Ensure SESS Merchandising expectations and service levels are maintained while remaining within the budget. Continue to review coverage levels to ensure the most efficient service to our customers.
  • Daily communication with Territory Director and DSM’s as needed.
  • Responsible for time and attendance reporting/management for their merchandising and sales relief teams (Field Force and e-time).
  • Assigns duties to merchandising staff and sales relief; schedules work hours and PTO requests.
  • Coordinates daily schedules of all merchandising routes. Back up/cover routes as needed.
  • Assist the Territory Director in tracking breakage and out of code to minimize occurrences.
  • Monitors customer and sales team’s complaints and resolves problems within 24 hours to restore and promote good public relations.
  • Identifies and reports any opportunities and competitive information to management.
  • Allocates theme and promotional rebates to merchandising and sales relief team each week.
  • Participates in weekly sales meetings and training sessions.
  • Follow the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: identifying and screening potential candidates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Adheres to all sales standards (per sales manual) example: P.O.S., rotation etc.
  • Attends all sales functions (meetings, training programs, promotions etc.)
  • Weekend work required and 6 a.m. start required.


  • An Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent experience from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Must be able to attain and maintain a NYS Liquor Authority Solicitor’s permit.
  • Ability to follow directions and complete assignments in a timely manner.
  • Ability to read labels, policies and procedures; comprehend various coding systems; write correspondence, give presentations to staff on company related information.
  • Must be computer literate and able to utilize database software, internet software, inventory software, order processing systems, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds at one time and repetitively lifts up to 30 lbs.

Work Environment:

The work environment is indoors but the employee is required to frequently work in a refrigerated atmosphere.
